CyberSafe and Micro Focus organized the event “Focus on Security”. The event was hosted in Doca de Santo Amaro, Lisboa, Portugal.


Cybersecurity is one of the most concerns for most organizations. The new European regulation for data protection (GDPR) and the new NIS Directive (Network and Infrastructure Systems Security) represent additional challenges of the conformities, taking of implementation of news mechanisms of data protection.


The aim of the event was to present the CyberSafe SOC Services and Micro Focus cybersecurity solutions portfolio after the merging with Hewlett Packard Enterprise Software Division on areas as Security Events Monitoring & Correlation (SIEM), Application Security (Static and Dynamic Application Security Testing, Run-time application self-protection), Data Security (email encryption, database encryption and tokenization), Identity & Governance, Access Management & Strong Authentication.


The event counted with the presence of some CyberSafe clients such as EDP (Energy Sector) and Instituto de Informática (Public Sector) that presented their case studies. The session ended with a lunch on the Tagus River aboard the WaterX Shuttle.

CyberSafe is currently the sole Micro Focus (ex-HPE Software) Partner in Portugal with the highest partner Certification for Security products, namely on: ArcSight products and Data Security products. CyberSafe qualified for this certification because of the high number of certified engineers on its team on SIEM, Data Security and Application Security products, and the high volume of business with Micro Focus Security products.

CyberSafe participated in the “3rd eHealth Security Conference”, an event organized by ENISA (European Union Agency for Network and Information Security) with the Portuguese Ministry of Health Shared Services Directorate (SPMS).


ENISA organized a workshop on eHealth Security. The workshop was a full-day event that took place in Lisbon, Portugal. Having in mind that “Information security is a matter for all”, the 3rd eHealth (eHealth) security conference focused on cybersecurity and their different dimensions and levels of action. The conference had more than 20 speakers, mostly international specialists on health, cybersecurity and technology.


This event focused on the aspects related to the implementation of the NIS Directive by the EU Member States, specifically for the Healthcare sector, and highlighted practices regarding the identification of operators of essential services, the collection of baseline security measures and incident notification.


Under discussion have been topics related with security of medical devices, emerging technologies that support the eHealth, as the Cloud in Healthcare, Smart Healthcare and regulatory provisions for hospitals. The aim of this workshop was to share knowledge and provide basic security measures for adoption of good practices.


CyberSafe that recently was awarded to be included on the Framework Agreement on Cybersecurity in the Health Area in Portugal lead by SPMS, participated on this event showing its portfolio of solutions and services to address the Health sector needs in terms of cybersecurity, namely its NIS Directive Preparedness Assessment consulting service, its Security Operations Center (SOC) Services, solutions to address Advanced Persistent Threats protection, solutions to address GDPR, and more.

CyberSafe participated in the “II Jornadas pela Segurança”, an event organized by “Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa”.


The focus of this second edition of “Jornadas pela Segurança” was the importance of prevention on safety and security, for organizational sustainability. This event counted with participation of the several departments of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa.

Lídio Lopes, director of the Security Management Office (GGS) showed an “undisputed satisfaction” with the realization of this second edition that counted with a “set of quality stakeholders” that will guarantee “the success of this second edition Jornadas pela Segurança”. The director of GGS also stressed that we should “always be prepared for the worst, always wishing the best” reminding those present in the room that efforts for a safer organization “it only makes sense if all elements are integrated into the same action, if all are coordinated “.


The need for investment in security to avoid higher costs and problems, as well as the sharing of good practices and difficulties in the implementation of security objectives among various entities, was the aim for this second edition.


CyberSafe was present and contributed to the event with a presentation about the “Protection Against Advanced Security Threats” performed by Dinis Fernandes, Executive Manager, CyberSafe. Some examples of international and national phishing attacks have been shown, and some recommendations and guidance was shared either regarding the awareness with end-users with regard to the distinction between honest communications and elaborate forms of social engineering for money and data extraction, and either regarding the technological measures and solutions that must be used to detect and block advanced malware that was designed to evade traditional cybersecurity solutions.
